Third Governmental Meeting on Urban Air Quality Management

Objectives:
A Third Governmental Meeting on Urban Air Quality in Asia will focus on updating government officials from environment ministries (selected other ministry representatives may be invited) on developments in urban air quality management at the international level and individual Asian countries that are relevant for the implementation of the LTV, and identify recommendations for Governments for the further progression of the LTV. Links with climate change and GHG emissions will also be covered.

The objectives are

- to identify recommendations for Asian Governments, especially Environment Ministries, for the further progression of the LTV.

- to build the knowledge of government representatives on air quality, climate change, transport, energy and other related issues, which can help in identifying new policies and measures in their countries to reduce air pollutant and GHG emissions.

- to identify how environment ministries need to collaborate with other ministries in achieving the LTV, especially sectoral ministries such as Transport, Energy and Industry.
